CH2M HILL’s Chemical Vapors Solution

Chemical Vapors emanating from the tanks have been an issue at the tank farms since they were first built and put in use. As waste-disturbing activity increased when retrieval operations began, concerns and reports of potential vapor exposure increased. In response, CH2M HILL implemented processes and controls to protect workers and initiated efforts to characterize tank vapors. Out of this effort has come resolution of uncertainties about potentially harmful vapors and progressive changes in workforce protection.

The chemical vapor issue resolution process encompassed employee participation, data acquisition and analysis, and outside expert review. We’re proud of our success in managing this challenging issue.
